Carol connects with her audience with energy and enthusiasm. She believes passionately that in all areas of our lives we should regain a spirit of community. She captivates you with her heartwarming stories.
As the youngest daughter of a rural family doctor who made house calls, she wrote her first published book, No Ordinary Hero-When Doctors Made House Calls. She shares some of her stories from this book in speaking engagements. One of the audience’s favorites is,” A Horse of An Appendectomy.” Her father was often reimbursed in barter payments for medical care. She was the lucky recipient of a registered quarter horse when she was ten years old when a horse trader in her town needed an emergency appendectomy.
Carol is a registered nurse and draws on her life experiences of serving others in need, being a team player and focusing on respecting yourself. She has had many community experiences that give her insight into motivating and inspiring people to work together to achieve their dreams and visions. Some of the community organizations she has been involved with have been, The YMCA, The Red Cross, The High School Athletic Booster Club, School District Special Education Classes Volunteer, Aquatic Classes, Children’s Ministry Church Activities , and Clothing and Food Pantries.
She has had numerous media engagements for her book tours on regional public radio, NBC, CBS, and ABC television affiliates throughout the Midwest, and Christian radio stations. She has been a free lance columnist for her local newspaper writing humorist and compassionate stories about her childhood.
She has one soulmate for a lifetime, her husband Ken. They have been married for thirty years and truly believe they can still say, “ I love you to each other.”
She has three adult children and one daughter-in law who she dearly loves spending time with. She believes that adapting to life’s changes and relationships is a journey.
